Disqualification of Yang Wang Following Repeated Service Faults and Unsportsmanlike Conduct

📍 In Men’s Singles Qualifying Round 2, Slovakian player Yang Wang 🇸🇰 was disqualified after furiously smashing his racket on the table—causing visible damage—following a series of contentious service fault calls.

📝 Here’s how the incident unfolded:

• The match between Yang Wang and Taehyun Kim 🇲🇹 began with an early warning. At 0–0 in major and 0–1 in minor points, the umpire called Wang for a service fault (ball not thrown high enough). Wang acknowledged the call and continued, eventually winning the first set.

• In the second set, trailing 0–3 in minor points, Wang received another fault—this time an official sanction. Despite his visible frustration, he continued playing and lost the set, leveling the match at 1–1.

• Tensions escalated in the fourth set when Wang was penalized again for a service fault. He challenged the call but resumed play, ultimately losing the set, bringing the score to 2–2.

• The breaking point came during the deciding set. Wang was faulted once more—this time by the assistant umpire. Enraged, he slammed his racket on the table, causing a visible dent. After a quick inspection, officials deemed the act unjustifiable and disqualified him on the spot.

• As he left the court, Wang also kicked the soft court barrier, leaving another dent and further intensifying the scene.
